James McCabe, MD

Section Chief, Interventional Cardiology; Professor of Medicine · University of Washington School of Medicine

Dr. James (Jamie) McCabe grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, graduated magna cum laude from Bowdoin College and received his medical degree from Yale University. He has completed 10 years of post-medical school training including internal medicine training and general cardiology fellowship at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and interventional cardiology fellowship as well as an advanced interventional fellowship in structural and peripheral treatments at Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. McCabe joined the University of Washington Medical Center in 2013. He became medical director of the Cardiac Cath Labs in 2015 and subsequently was named Chief of Interventional Cardiology for the UW System in 2020. His clinical practice leverages his knowledge and experience in clinical cardiovascular medicine and complex coronary and valvular heart interventions. Dr. McCabe is an international leader in structural heart interventions including repair or replacement of all heart valves using catheter-based methods. He also treats all forms of coronary artery blockage and cardiogenic shock. He is an internationally recognized clinician educator and investigator in transcatheter therapies for valvular heart disease.

Amar Krishnaswamy, MD

Section Head of Invasive & Interventional Cardiology in the Robert and Suzanne Tomisch Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute.

Amar Krishnaswamy, MD, is  is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology.Specialty Interests: Complex coronary interventions, structural heart disease interventions (including TAVR, PFO/ASD closure, left atrial appendage occlusion, paravalvular leak closure, and catheter mitral valve repair and replacement) and carotid/peripheral interventions. He also attends in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.

Dr. Krishnaswamy has performed more than 5,000 cardiovascular procedures throughout his career (including more than 1,500 TAVR procedures).Education and Training:

Dr. Krishnaswamy was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. He completed his undergraduate degree at Colgate University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with majors in Molecular Biology and in Economics. He received his medical degree at Yale University School of Medicine, where he was awarded a grant to spend an extra year studying the vascular biology of transplantation. He went on to Internal Medicine residency in the Osler Training Program at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was honored with the opportunity to serve as Assistant Chief of Service (Chief Resident) upon completion of his training. He then went on to complete both General Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology fellowships at Cleveland Clinic after which he was invited to join the staff.

Assistant Professor | Director, Fundamental Research Cardiovascular Imaging, Radiology UBC Division of Cardiology | Providence Health Care

Stephanie Sellers is Director, Fundamental Research Cardiovascular Imaging, Radiology at Providence Health Care and Assistant Professor, UBC Division of Cardiology. Her focus is to integrate clinical and basic science research in cardiovascular imaging as it relates to structural heart disease.

Dr. David Meier

Interventional cardiologist
Lausanne University Hospital

Dr. David Meier is an interventional cardiologist at Lausanne University Hospital in Switzerland. He earned his medical degree from the University of Lausanne, followed by specialized training in internal medicine and cardiology. He then completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology in Vancouver, Canada. Alongside his clinical duties, Dr. Meier maintains an active research collaboration with the cardiovascular translational lab in Vancouver.
