ViVitro Laboratory Services A2LA Accreditation through January 2016 now online

May 12, 2014 (Victoria, B.C.) ViVitro Labs Inc., global provider of cardiovascular device testing equipment and laboratory services, announced today that the updated certificate and scope of accreditation for its Laboratory Services headquartered in Victoria, B.C. are now available on the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) website.

ViVitro Labs Inc., Laboratory Services headquartered in Victoria, B.C. are accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) to perform Laboratory testing for ISO 5840 Cardiovascular Implants – Cardiac Valve Prostheses Annex L and M in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005, the most recognized standard for competence of testing in the industry.   

ViVitro Labs successfully passed an ISO 17025 audit conducted by A2LA at the beginning of December 2013.  The ISO 17025 accreditation process is based on regular audits of the facility and specifically audits of the Quality Management System and the accredited test methods. The A2LA accreditation program provides formal recognition of the competence of a laboratory to manage and perform specific tests listed in the scope of accreditation.

Vesna Janic, ViVitro Labs Director QA/RA, notes: “This is ViVitro Labs’ third successful A2LA Accreditation site audit. As a result, our accreditation certificate are accredited through January 31, 2016. In addition, future site audits will be conducted every other year.”

The accreditation confirms ViVitro Labs commitment to meeting the highest quality standards and regulatory requirements to perform testing on heart valves to the ISO 5840 standard.
